Their Church
Chelles is a large town (16 km²) with a population of 55,000, located 13 km from Paris. This congregation currently meets weekly in the basement of a restaurant in the downtown area which is the “heart” of the city, home to the City Hall, train stations, shops, and other major services.
Averaging about 50 people (adults and children), they do not have enough space for their regular attenders, let alone for welcoming new people. For five years they have been searching and praying for a space that is much better suited to their needs.
A Building in the Heart of the City
It is in the central downtown neighborhood that a property has become available for purchase. Its location is ideal.
The building measures 225 m². Half of the space could be dedicated to a worship hall capable of accommodating up to 150 people. The remaining half could include rooms for children and youth, as well as a reception area, a kitchen, and more.
It is a tool that opens up significant possibilities for the Kingdom of God (such as regional pastors’ meetings, Christian youth gatherings, and a center for the launch of a church plant in the neighboring town of Gagny—which has a population of 40,000).
Need for partners
The total cost of the project is approximately €667,000. Therefore, they are seeking donors from around the world. One sister said, “If 60,000 people around the world each gave €10, the challenge is met.”
