A Call for Lyon
In 2017, God spoke to Christophe & Maria BERNARD about planting several communities in the metropolitan area of Lyon (1.5 million people) in agreement with their Union of Churches. After 24 years as senior pastors, they stepped into the challenge of moving to Vaulx en Velin in January 2020, just before COVID.
Despite the lockdown, it was through personal connections with non-Christians that a first church plant became a young church: around 20 people now gather regularly in an Ibis hotel in Vaulx en Velin, a city with a strong Muslim presence. Christophe is passionately involved in discipleship, teaching, and leadership, both locally and nationally.
One More Step
With two young couples who have joined them to serve, their vision is for this young church to start a new disciple-making community for people disconnected from Jesus in Lyon’s largest district, the 3rd arrondissement (105,000 inhabitants).
With new believers not yet fully able to support the ministry of the Church and the pastoral couple, they would be blessed by your financial partnership and prayer support to bring the Good News of salvation in Christ to the 105,000 residents of this district of Lyon and beyond!
