The following is a description of a ministry project of Impact France in collaboration with Eglise Protestante Evangélique de Versailles (EPEV).
Versailles is known for the signing of the American independence treaty in 1783. The town and its surroundings have a population of 265,000 habitants. There are only 5 small evangelical churches and less than 1% of the population is evangelical.
Founded in 2011, EPEV (Evangelical Protestant Church of Versailles) is part of the AEEI, a union of churches set up by TEAM missionaries. EPEV has grown regularly and now has 39 active members, a growth of 254% during the last 10 years, with a weekly attendance of 60 people. EPEV’s vision is “To establish a church, founded on God and his Word, which grows and multiplies”.
Our cramped meeting place, only available for rental on Sundays, leads us to consider buying a more suitable property. We are looking for a place which would have a larger room for Sunday services and which would allow us to meet freely during the week and at other times during the weekend. Such a place would allow us to hold special outreach events.
Property is very expensive in Versailles. All the places we have looked at cost from $800,000 to over $1,500,000, which is considerably more than the current church budget! We therefore need your help!
