Legacy Gifts to Impact France

Want to leave a lasting legacy for God’s Kingdom in France? We invite you to consider Impact France as part of your estate planning! You can make an estate gift – also called a “bequest” – to Impact France through your will or trust. An estate gift allows you to make a significant gift while maintaining control over your assets during your lifetime. The terms of your will or trust are flexible and can be modified if your charitable priorities shift.

Beyond knowing you are making a Kingdom difference, legacy gifts may offer estate tax advantages and potential savings for your heirs. For example, designating Impact France as a beneficiary of your retirement account (IRA, 401(k), annuity, etc) can help reduce estate taxes and income taxes. This would allow you to leave other assets which are more tax-efficient – such as real estate or stock – to your family and friends.

Without even touching your will or trust document, you can name Impact France as a beneficiary of an investment or retirement account, assigning whatever percentage you wish.

Aside from those types of accounts, the rest of your estate’s assets don’t usually have direct beneficiaries legally designated by you, and that’s where your will or trust documents are essential.  For example, in addition to naming family or friends as beneficiaries, you can name Impact France or other charities as well, designating what part of your estate goes where.

An executor of your estate may just mail checks to beneficiaries without adding details. If you have a particular project you wish to support, please let us know about your estate plans by contacting donors@impactfrance.org – this will help us administratively in making sure your wishes are honored.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is part of Estate Planning, and is the process by which donors plan a charitable gift of assets either to occur during their lifetime as a “current gift” or upon death as a “deferred gift.” Planned gifts focus on family, ministry, and taxes while addressing these tough questions:

  • What are our priorities?
  • What would honor God?
  • How much is enough for our children?
  • Are we investing for eternity? 

These are highly personal issues that we recommend you seek God’s direction on through prayer, His Word, and in godly counsel.

A broader process to think through and consider alternatives about how to use and distribute assets God has entrusted to you. Beyond planned giving, for example, you will decide who should be your beneficiaries and how to benefit those beneficiaries, decide who should act in certain roles (guardians, executor, etc…), and incorporate life and lifestyle values in the documents.
