La Buissonnière

This year, they are opening their 6th grade class (as part of the gradual opening of the middle school), and they currently have 40 students enrolled. They still receive many applications that they cannot accommodate due to a lack of space and resources. They were able to set up a third classroom in May 2026, as well as an administrative office. Their staff includes three teachers, an assistant, and a lunchtime supervisor. Volunteers also regularly contribute to the school. All their staff and volunteers come from local evangelical churches. Two-thirds of the families who send their children to school are Christian, and one-third are not. All students participate in faith formation classes, and starting this year, the older students will begin theology classes.

From the outset, they have chosen to keep tuition fees as affordable as possible for families, so that money is not a barrier to children attending a Christian school. While this certainly makes the school financially vulnerable, it also fosters solidarity and unity among Christians. A Christian community school is, in addition to being a “nursery” for the church, a true source of inspiration for faith and a genuine witness to non-Christian families, neighbors, authorities, and other local stakeholders.

Their short and medium-term projects:

• The playground: currently a dirt surface, it becomes very dusty on windy or hot days, and unusable on rainy days.
• Bringing two classrooms up to code: wood cladding and solar panels (they are not allowed flat roofs unless there are solar panels).
• An additional classroom for middle school students: this is a challenge and a matter of prayer because they currently do not have the space for this classroom, unless they can begin using the neighboring land!
