Excerpt from the President of the CNEF’s message in their January newsletter:
“We ended 2023 with a bang, solemnly affirming a renewed vision for the CNEF at our Plenary Assembly on December 6, with redefined missions and a set of core values for the decade ahead! The day culminated in the adoption of a historic text: “Together in Mission”.
“A text outlining a roadmap for the progress of the Gospel in our country. One sentence stood out for me this morning. Jim Memory, co-director of the Lausanne Europe movement, urged us not to let this text remain a dead letter, but to let it come alive and spur us into action.
“It’s up to us now, together, to roll up our sleeves…
“But we know that everything begins with prayer. This is fundamental: this common missionary impulse must not be based on our own energy, but must truly correspond to an action of the Spirit in us and around us. We believe this. That’s why we concluded this text with these lines: Yes, we pray together: Father, fill us with your Holy Spirit. Make us faithful witnesses, united by the love of Jesus Christ. Awaken a revival in your Church and in our country.“

Universal Week of Prayer 2024
From January 14 to 21, this week of prayer echoes the “Together in mission” commitment voted by CNEF members in December 2023, and the 50th anniversary of the Lausanne congress!
- Pray that France will recover spiritually, morally, economically and politically.
- Let us pray that God will inspire the members of the government and elected representatives, and support them in their responsibilities.
- Let us intercede in particular for certain societal reforms that are underway. The latest ethical guidelines are sometimes at odds with our own, and we can fear further developments.
- Let us pray for the associations and individuals who are fighting to alert public opinion and the authorities.
