Who We Are
Oasis Community Center is an association with members of diverse economic, spiritual, and social backgrounds from 30+ countries. The community center was established in 2013 and is led by local volunteers who give their time and energy to share the love of Jesus among its members and within the local community.
Our Neighborhood
Oasis operates out of a small community center located in greater Toulouse. It is in an area rich in culture with many inhabitants from a north African background. Oasis is right in the heart of an ongoing urban regeneration scheme of 80 million euros which is scheduled to complete in 2027.
What We Do
The community center includes a café and several multi-use spaces. Weekly programming for children and adults includes arts and crafts, English conversation groups, introductory French for refugees, writing groups, dance classes and so on. Concerts, bilingual book groups, walking groups, international meals and occasional picnics are regular activities throughout the year.
Something Different
Those who participate in the association often remark that there is “something different” at Oasis. They use words like welcomed, heard, safe, respected, and loved. Of course, we know that “something different” is the love of God. And for those who ask about our motivation, we’re happy to explain that it’s our faith in Jesus which motivates us to love our neighbors.
