South Brittany Perspectives Venue

The church establishment project in Vannes began in 2015, with a three-dimensional plan:

– a church open to the community: creation of a non-profit association called “Passerelles” (providing assistance to families and individuals in need, particularly migrants), creation of a hospital chaplaincy.

– a welcoming church: starting a congregation that welcomes families and individuals, and which is gradually taking shape.

– a church in relationship with other churches: affiliation with a church union (the Baptist Federation), involvement in the CNEF, relationships with other Christian churches.

In 2025, a new milestone was reached: the church joined the Perspectives church union and merged with a missionary project started by Perspectives (then called France Mission) in Vannes in 1984. The newly combined project retains the three initial dimensions, but is part of the broader and longer-term vision of Perspectives: “Disciples who make disciples, churches that make churches.”

Today, the goal is to create a church location called “Espace Perspectives Bretagne Sud” (Perspectives South Brittany Space), which will be one of Perspectives’ regional hubs for southern Brittany (Morbihan, Loire-Atlantique, Vendée). This church location will be a space for solidarity, hospitality, training, evangelism, pastoral meetings, and future church planting. The Perspectives Venue site is in Morbihan (South Brittany) in the heart of the Gulf of Morbihan Regional Natural Park in the Vannes urban area (which has 175,000 inhabitants). 

This project will enable:

– the growth of the Vannes Church plant to 100 members

– hosting of the AFP Passerelles association that helps between 70 and 100 people through regular solidarity initiatives

– development of the “Perspectives Région Ouest” training and church planting center which will support the 11 churches and three church plants in the region; and host meetings and training for volunteers, leaders, and members of churches in the region.

The developments and implementation of this project require suitable premises, skills, resources, and the structuring of the project and teams over time.
