The following is a description of a ministry project of Impact France in collaboration with the CAEF.
Derek and Melissa Sutherland (children Noah, Joseph and Olivia) have been in Ministry in France since 2013. Since mid-2022, their ministry has been in Saint Etienne, where over 180,000 people live compared to only 6 small evangelical churches. Derek is pastoring the church of La Terrasse (CAEF) along with other elders and also developing church planting in the metro area where half a million people live for only 10 evangelical churches total.
Prior to this calling, the Sutherlands completed in 2022 an M.Div. in Great Commission Studies in Louisville, Kentucky. From 2013 to 2020, they church-planted in the North of France in Lens with France Pour Christ. They served by teaching on Sundays and in community groups, doing outreach in the community of Lens, and serving at the youth group.
The Sutherlands have a passion to see people transformed by the Gospel to live a life that glorifies God through Scripture-saturated, Christ-oriented communities belonging to biblical churches. Please prayerfully consider supporting their ministry.
